So.....if you follow me on Twitter, you know that I took the plunge and colored my hair! :D I used Silk Elements Permanent Hair Color in Honey Blonde. :o My own mother couldn't believe I used a permanent color in my hair, lol! She knows how I am about my hair. Since I'm relaxed, I pretty much stick to temporary & semi-permanent colors. Didn't want to risk all of my progress.
I just needed a change and I really, REALLY wanted to color. Moving along....I didn't really want this color, Honey Blonde per se. I wanted something a little darker like their Sante Fe Bronze color or the Cinnamon Brown. Oh and I really like the Sunrise Blonde. ;-) I've always read to go with the lighter color if you're considering coloring your hair. I'm just trying to get a Queen Latifah-ish color, lol. I don't recommend using permanent color on relaxed hair. It's just....I wanted this color SO BAD that I was willing to risk it. And to minimize damaging my whole head I only applied the color to the front section. I'd rather lose hair in the front of my head than the back!
Anyway...the color didn't come out as light as I wanted it too. That' my fault though. I didn't leave it in as long as I was supposed to. I was afraid of it getting too light. I mean...it's lighter outdoors, but not inside. I want it to be able to show up inside too. Here's a bootleg shot...with the top down. The color is actually lighter than this. #cameraphone
The quality of the photos are horrible. :-( I miss my camera! Hopefully, I will be getting a new one soon. While looking for some information about the Silk Elements Permanent Color, I stumbled across a post Tracy from Keep It Simple Sista did about it. She used the color on her hair and it looked really pretty! :-) She was absolutely right. My hair was so soft after rinsing the color out. :-)If you're a regular reader of HG, you know I love Silk Elements! I still want a lighter color though! : \ What do I do??? I'm thinking of doing something drastic.....
I'm just trying to get back to something like my old color.......*sigh*

You hair actually looks good. Let the summer sun finish coloring it, which it will!! Make sure you condtion condtion condition, so that it won't start breaking..and what is this something drastic you want to do? Whatever it is, you better wait a few months to do it b/c you don't want to apply color over color and risk extreme breakage O_o
Ummhmm.
Since your hair is lighter now maybe using a blond rinse over it will help lighten it a bit. Can't hurt to try!
Nice. I was on a coloring my hair kick for a few years, I think I'm just getting over it :) have fun with ur new hair color!!
You look so good in the last pic!!! Sorry.....
@L. Michelle Too late girl! I did it. My hair feels fine though and I'm babying it right now. Me and my impulsive self, lol.
@ACS That was my first thought, but semi-permanent color doesn't lighten the hair. : \
@SSP Thanks! :-)
