May 2010 Relaxer!

So after 11 weeks and 3 days I finally relaxed!

Still teetering around apl....My hair is not retaining length like it used too. : \ I also had a #hairdyefail after my relaxer. I want a soft light brown color so I'm thinking I'll have to get a semi-permanent color. A real one.

And I FINALLY got a new blowdryer! :D :D :D Remember the death of the last one was literally months ago. I'm sick of this straight hair ish. I think I'll be rocking a rollerset tommorrow. I can't do straight hair for a long time.

End Of 2009 Length Check!

Hey gurls,

So I relaxed my hair on Wednesday with the world's best relaxer of course.....Alter Ego! lol, I used my usual leave-ins (still loving the Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer : D).

As you can see I'm literally kissing apl (arm pit length). I can't stop my hair from growing into this inevitable "v" shape. The hair at the center bottom of my head seems to grow faster than the rest of my hair. My left side is catching up to it. The right side is moving the the slowest....(sorry this pic is so blurry)

Good news though: I'm apl on the left side of my head in the front.

Right side....meh. This is my hair again from the front. My head was leaning a little to the side here.... So that's it! I am determined to finally meet apl in 2010. :D

November Relaxer Photos!

Finally....here they are. : ) Here's me right after I blow dried my hair....(more to tell on that later, lol) And here are the photos I took right after flat-iron and putting a light curl under the ends. I don't know why my hair looks longer in this photo..... Here's an up close shot of my strands. Alter Ego is the best! I'll post more pics of my hair straight in a few day when it flattens out. There's a bit of a curl at the end and I want to see how it straight.....More to come on the new products I used for this relaxer! I found some great staples. :-) -K.D.

Product Rave: Silk Elements! Pt. 1

Happy Saturday Hair Gurls! As you ladies know I relaxed with Silk Elements this week and the results were excellent! This relaxer left my hair very silky and soft. My roots are super straight and everything. I just washed and deep conditioned my hair and it's still soft. So I think this relaxer is definitely a keeper....there is another relaxer I want to try this year, but I'll tell you about that later. If you haven't tried this relaxer, it's definitely a must try!lol Now, I also used their heat protectant, Silk Elements MegaSilk Olive Heat Protection Spray.... and like I said earlier this week, this is the best heat protectant I've ever used on my hair! I'm serious! All of the ones I used don't match up to this one. They would leave my hair sticky, dry, etc. But this one... It was superb and my made hair even softer. This awesome spray is extremely light and adds shine to the hair. It's also infused with one of my favorite oils: olive oil! Check out the ingredients/reviews and see for yourself! Note: I also have some other products from the Silk Elements line that I'll be reviewing over the next week or two so stay tuned for that! :-) -K.D.

February Relaxer Results!

As you all know this post will come with pics of my relaxed hair after my 15 week stretch. I reached apl on this relaxer but I had to trim because my ends were looking very raggedy.....I still may trim some more because they look bad compared to my last relaxer in October. My hair is much thicker and I believe that's because of stretching my relaxer and bunning. Bad news: I did have some breakage (not because of the relaxer) that is noticeable in the back of my head and I was really irritated about that. I don't know where it came from but I noticed it after I straightened my hair. I'm just going to fix the problem and keep it moving all the way to bsl!!! Here are some pics of my hair relaxed with Silk Elements Mega-Silk No-Lye Relaxer. It was a great relaxer and it straightens newgrowth very well. My hair feel wonderful! It's very soft and manageable. Check out the pics....
Still growing out my layers....
