My Wedding Day Hair Meaning

 Before I started taking care of my hair in August '07, I always assumed I would be walking down the aisle in a weave. During my 'weave stage', I'd pretty much given up on growing my hair longer than my usual shoulder length. In my mind, if I wanted longer hair I would have to don a weave. After I started taking better care of my hair, I became determined to wear my own hair when my wedding day rolled around.

That was the one area in our wedding planning that was easy: my hair. I relaxed it a few days before the wedding. The night before my wedding I washed, conditioned, flat ironed, & wrapped it. The next morning, I trimmed it a little and added some curls.Voila. No fuss at all. I was proud of my growth so I wore it down happily. :-) My hair on my wedding day signified growth for me. Not just my hair, but how far I'd come from the concept that "if I wanted longer hair, I would have to wear a weave".

How did you ladies wear your hair on your wedding day? Relaxed? Natural? Weaved? What styles did you come up with? Did you wear it how you always dreamed of wearing it?
