One Tip to Keep Your Hair Happy!

You know those days when you want to try out a really cute hairstyle. You go in the bathroom all excited & proceed to style your hair into your latest idea. And then it happens! Your hair will NOT cooperate. At all. Sighs, frustration, grumbling, and repeated attempts usually follow to no avail. Every woman knows how this feels. This same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago before venturing out to the Houston Greek Fest. Over the years, I've learned to handle these situations a lot better & really accept the fact that my hair has a mind of it's own.
Houston Greek Fest....

.....and this is what my hair wanted to do!! lol

Maya Water Facial Mist: My life saver for this Houston heat! Khloa loves when I spray this on her! The mist instantly cools me down.

The solution? Let your hair do what it wants to do. Give your hair what it wants & needs. There's no point/use in battling with your hair. Your hair will always win. Realizing that is half the battle. Example: If your hair is dry & you don't moisturize it, your hair will break. See? lol, Give your hair what it wants & you'll live a happier life! ;-) (via my Facebook page)

Twist Out 'Froed Out

My hair at the Houston Children's Festival this past weekend. Initially, I did a speedy twist out that I conjured up at the last minute. These are the results after a few hours in the Houston sun....

Prop I found for Khloa's 1st birthday cake smash. ;-)

They haven't invented an anti-humidity cream/gel/spray/ that will hold the 'fro down. LOL

I LOVE WHEN MY HAIR SWELLS LIKE THIS! :D And it was so soft!

P.S. I don't know what that is in my hair... : \

Rock Climbing Hair

Can you find my hair??? lol!

Me climbing!
The hubs helping Khlo Face climb. :-)

Bopee Bo!! She kicked off her shoes per usual...

I'm new to rock climbing....and ya'll I didn't make it to the top at all! LOL I'm going to try again one day though. I'm obviously still on a twist out high from 'Fro Fashion Week. I wore a twist out that immediately frizzed up before we left the house due to my hair still being damp. Then, it was raining when we got to the place. I used Beautiful Textures Whipped Curl Creme. I can be a bit heavy handed so because of that I used way too much, but after my hair absorbed the excess the next day it was extremely soft. Have you guys used any of the Beautiful Textures line?? I only hear great things about it. Can't wait to try the rest of the line! :D

Natural Spotted on "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?"

IMG_0049 IMG_0054 IMG_0053 IMG_0052

As soon as I saw her hair I snapped away, lol. Very similiar to when I posted photos of Vanessa Williams & her twa on Way Black When some months ago. Her name was Shaloada & she was a teacher. I'm not sure how she acheived this style, but she was working it! It looks like a pinned up afro. This style immediately reminded me of Esperanza Spalding!

Go head Ms. Shalanda!

July 4th is National Afro Day!

I rock a 'fro every day so this is nothing new to me, but is anyone else rocking a 'fro on the 4th of July?? I've been so busy that I didn't realize the 4th was in a couple of days. :o I think in honor of the 'fro I rocked a braid out last year so relaxed ladies you can join in too by rocking a big twistout or braidout! :-)

Still Loving Cantu!

cantuhair cantuhair6 cantuhair5 cantuhair4 cantuhair3 cantuhair2

I know I've been depriving you ladies of hair pics so here I am armed with pics. :-)  I took these photos over the last month after I applied the Cantu Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream. I just knew I'd be making post about my continuous love for Cantu, lol. Ya'll, I'm IN LOVE with Cantu right now! I posted a review that you can check out if you missed it. My hair love, love, loves this stuff. It gives my hair such nice soft curls. Remember, if you plan on trying the Leave In-less is more. Don't overdo it.  This is my new staple. :D Who else loves Cantu???

P.S. I think I'm going to stretch my hair this weekend & do a braidout...this will be my 1st time actually stretching my hair since going natural. Anxious to see how it will look!
