Still Loving Cantu!

cantuhair cantuhair6 cantuhair5 cantuhair4 cantuhair3 cantuhair2

I know I've been depriving you ladies of hair pics so here I am armed with pics. :-)  I took these photos over the last month after I applied the Cantu Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream. I just knew I'd be making post about my continuous love for Cantu, lol. Ya'll, I'm IN LOVE with Cantu right now! I posted a review that you can check out if you missed it. My hair love, love, loves this stuff. It gives my hair such nice soft curls. Remember, if you plan on trying the Leave In-less is more. Don't overdo it.  This is my new staple. :D Who else loves Cantu???

P.S. I think I'm going to stretch my hair this weekend & do a braidout...this will be my 1st time actually stretching my hair since going natural. Anxious to see how it will look!

Hair Talk: What Hairstyle Would You Rock For the Rest of Your Life?

*gasping at her bun*

If you could only rock one hairstyle for the rest of your life, what would it be? I know what I would rock...BRAIDOUTS! Ya'll know how much I love braidouts. I could definitely wear them EVERDAY!!!

Ok now it's your turn! Remember....it can only be ONE hairstyle!

14 Weeks Post Today

And the struggle continues....so by now I would've already have gotten a relaxer in my pre-preggie days.;-) I just finished combing and detangling & that's a job within itself. If you are liking me on  Facebook, then you know just a few minutes ago I wrote I was considering doing a small chop. A small chop is just the 1st chop preparing my hair for the big chop. I was thinking about cutting my hair into a bob for now....maybe. This is a big decision for me so when I decide to do it, I won't be turning back. Therefore, I have to give this A LOT of thought. I like my hair at the length it is now and I don't want to have to start over. What to do...what to do....

Meanwhile, I've been looking at a lot of natural hairspiration. I just want to wear my hair big utltimately!

The Sun & The Rollerset

Here's how my rollerset looked at the end of the week. It took a beating by the sun on Friday! I was in D.C. for the day and I spent most of the time outside. Thus, the hair did suffer. My hair & scalp were terribly dry when I got home that night. I washed & dc'ed over the weekend. I really enjoyed that rollerset though. It was too cute! I'll be doing it again very soon. Now I have to figure out when I'll be testing out the new flat irons. I have girl's night out event and a wedding to go to in the next couple of weeks...so maybe I will flat iron at those times. Still don't know yet. Hope you guys had a happy Easter!

My Air Dried Ponytail

I wore these curly ponytails basically most of the summer and I loved them! I love the way they look and how low maintenance they are. I co-washed my hair last night, applied my leave ins, put it in a ponytail and then took a nap on it (without a scarf)....so some of the curls flattened out. It's usually curlier than this. I may wear my hair like this to work tommorrow or do a braidout....still trying to decide.

May Hair Update!

Good morning all and Happy Memorial Day!!!
I have no real plans (i don't think) for the day so I thought I'd give you guys a quick update on what's been going on with my hair. A couple of weeks ago I evened out my hair with a full blunt cut. I didn't take too much off the ends....I just don't like my hair not being even all around. I'm 6 weeks post and I'll be relaxing around 8 weeks this time because of a wedding I'm attending.
My hair has been doing okay. I hoped I've gained some length for my June relaxer, but I'm not expecting much considering the fact that I just cut it. lol. I'm about to wash and condition so I'll post a pic of it wet soon. -K.D.

Hair Update!

Nothing much is going on with my hair. I'm 8 weeks and 1 day post. I've been concentrating more on deep conditioning my breakage area and the ends...using more protein too.I've also been prepooing and oiling my hair more. For some reason (still don't know why), I've been having "dry scalp syndrome" for about a month now. I'm trying to get this back in order. I'll let you guys know how that turns out. The new growth is outta control this time around and it's been like that since around week 6.5-7. I'm happy because that means growth, but it's making me want to relax now! Oh well, I'm still going to wait until I'm 10 weeks post (which is April 14th, look for that update to see how my ends are holding up). I'm also going to be trying out a new relaxer. YAY!!! I love trying out new hair stuff. Of course, I'll be doing a yay or nay review....but hopefully it's a yay...I can't stand wasting money on products that don't work. But hey, that's how you find out what works for you. So what's going on with your hair ladies? Anything new? -K.D.

Old Hair Needs Love Too!

What is the oldest part of a single hair strand? Duh...the ends.lol That's why we have to take extreme care of the ends. When the ends break guess what? We aren't retaining our progress. Ends have a lesser chance of breaking when they are moisturized and strong.
What I do to keep my ends moisturized and healthy:
-Moisturize my ends
-Seal with oil -when you deep condition, concentrate the most on the ends -trim,trim, trim off those split ends -limit your use of direct heat
So grab ahold of those ends and show them some love! Your hair will thank you with length. :-)
Ladies, what are some of your secrets for great looking ends

Is Hair All You Care About? Pt. 1

Has anyone ever said that to you? Or has someone made a statement similiar to this? What did you say to it? Some women seem offended when another women knows something other than the usual about hair care. This could be deep conditioning, acv rinses, the difference between moisturizing and protein conditioners, etc. Why ask another woman about hair care if you really don't care what the answer is? Or if you're just going to bash the answer? Of course hair is not the only thing I care about, but I do care a lot about it's health... in the same way I care about taking showers, giving myself a pedicure, brushing my teeth, etc...lol.
Sometimes people ask me hair questions when I'm out and about or just in general....but do they really care to hear my answers? Some women reply with a "You do that???". Granted I am not an official hair care expert, but I am an expert when it comes to my hair. Okay maybe expert is too strong of a word, but I do know a lot about my hair...lol. I learn new things about my hair all the time. I just try to encourage others to do the same. A lot of things in life come thru trials and tribulations and hair care is no different. You have to try out products, regimens, etc so you can see what works for your hair. There are no shortcuts to obtaining healthy hair and growth.
What are your thoughts about this?
