Tomiko Big Chops!

Tomiko Fraser Hines, model & actress, did the big chop recently and posted videos on Youtube! Felicia Leatherwood, well-known natural hairstylist in the entertainment industry, did the haircut on her and it looks fantastic! I stick to doing my own hair, but I think I'd let Felicia work her magic on my hair. As you can see, she does great work. I posted Tomiko's photo on HairGurl not too long ago. Check out this other cute video she did with her husband Chris after the bc. They are so cute together! I love the fact that he loves her natural hair. The part where he's trying to play in her hair is classic. lol, My husband is ALWAYS doing that to my hair and he messes it up! What is it about a woman's big chop, that makes a man want to mess up her hair?! I'll never understand, lol. Even though we have short hair, it still takes time to get it just so. #naturalhair

6 Months Post Haircut

This all started on Wednesday. I had the bright idea to cut my hair in a short haircut. Like this.... Remember when I posted about having fun with transitioning? Yeah, so I was feeling particularly fun on Wednesday night so I decided to go ahead and try the cut out. Note: This involved cutting most of my hair. After about 2-3 hours here were the results.

I hadn't combed it yet here. That's why it looks so crazy. HATED IT! I didn't like it at all. The hubs said I looked cute, but I sure didn't feel cute. I wasn't feeling it at all. I was in total shock for a minute because my hair has NEVER been this short. I was damn near natural on the right side of my head and in the back. So...I decided to just walk around with it for a day just to see if I would change my mind (and I didn't). On Thursday morning after I woke up, I noticed the nape had already reverted to natural, lol! I had to straighten some of it. I felt like I was doing my hair all over again. Chile.... One Thing I Wish I'd Known Before Getting This Haircut Short hair requires a lot of heat if it's not relaxed. At least with my hair. It may sound like common sense, but I didn't know this. : \ I didn't want to be flat ironing my hair every day. I was already flat ironing once a week because of transitioning. So wth did I even cut it in the 1st place?! Oh yeah...I was tired of dealing with the battle of the two textures & I wanted to try something new. I was so excited that I didn't think of the overall upkeep of the cut. I just looked at it as a transitional style. -_- So I said forget this..I'm going natural!!! :D Yesterday, at 6 months post relaxer, I chopped all of my relaxed ends off! #ohyeah :D :D :D :D :D Check back because I'll be posting pics today. ;-)

Did Ya'll See Megan Good's Hair on The Game?

Last night, The Game premiered their 4th season on BET! The Game is my show and I'm soooooo glad it's back. Moving along... I was in awe of Megan Good's hair. It was SO CUTE! Remember I just posted about her haircut the other day. I didn't know it was cut that low in the back though. : \ I won't be going that low at all. Still cute though! Pic from Necole Bitchie

Let's Have Fun With Transitioning!

I just had the best idea!! Okay, ya'll already know I'm transitioning. Right? I've also been cutting off an inch or more every month. So I'm thinking...since I'll be cutting my hair a little more each month why not get some of the hairstyles I've been too scared to cut my hair into?! I've never had my hair cut shorter than a bob. This will give me a chance to wear short hairstyles without fully committing to them. I've been loving this hairstyle for the last year! I will definitely be getting it finally...even if it is just for a little while. ;-) This is Tip from A Stylish Southerner. I hope she starts blogging again soon! Love her style.

My Bob: More Pics of the Small Chop

I flat ironed yesterday night w/ the GHD. I noticed my hair was still a little too long...

So I cut some more of the tip in the back....I think it's good now. Now it's officially a bob. :-)

What do you guys think? I've whipping my hair all day, lol! Initially, the hubs couldn't believe I cut my hair, but I explained to him again that I'm going natural. I have to prepare myself....I must admit I'm going to miss my hair being longer, but I'm serious about this transition. It's so bouncy & thick now! It's just what I wanted too & it's still long enough to put in a ponytail. When I was done flat ironing last night, the hubs said with a smile that he liked it. :-) I think I'm gonna rock a curly bob tomorrow to the holiday party!

Sneak Peek @ My Small Chop!

Random moment: I just hit my elbow so hard on the wall. I blacked out for a moment....

Here's my small chop. My hair is a little wet in this pic because I just washed it. I didn't count how many inches I cut off but it was about 2...The longest tip was where the "my small chop" is. This is how ya'll know I'm serious about going natural. I basically cut my apl hair into a bob...I'm preparing myself for the real chop! I'll most likely be cutting more in the coming months. I'm off to deep condition now. More pics to come this week & next week of the new cut. :-)
