Update: 2011 Hair Resolutions!
*hair coming down a little in the back*
1. Continue transitioning & eventually chop off all of my relaxed ends so I can be fully natural! (Natural!)
2. Continue shampooing, deep conditioning, and moisturizing my hair regularly. (Check!)
3. Re-stock my Deity protein conditioner!! I miss this stuff so much! (Still haven't done this. :\)
4. Continue to cut 1 inch or more every month until completely natural. (Check! Natural for almost 8 months!)
5. Try shea butter. (Trying this as we speak)

REPOST: To Relax or Transition...That Is The Question
Originally posted on 1/31/2009, I wrote in the comments on the original post that I wouldn't be doing a bc...& here I sit 6 months after my bc. Ain't life funny? Ironically, I bc'ed January 20, 2011...almost exactly 2 years after the original post. I love looking back & seeing how I've grown in different areas of my life. :-)
I'm so confused...Today I pre-pooed, clarified, and dc'ed my hair. I never really prepoo but today I thought I would try it out. My hair feels great! I'm 14.5 weeks post....remember when I told ya'll I was trying to stretch to 16 weeks? Well, I was going to relax my hair this coming Wed. (at 15 weeks post) because I have an event to attend on Feb. 7th. However.....I've been playing in my newgrowth basically all day and it feels so nice. The texture is very pretty and I'm curious as to how my hair would look like this all over! I see why some ladies transition....Now I'm confused as to whether I want to transition or relax... I know right!
I've always wanted to go natural, but I didn't think now was the time to do it....but now I really don't know.
What's a girl to do? This is a really hard decision...

6 Months Post Haircut
This all started on Wednesday. I had the bright idea to cut my hair in a short haircut. Like this....
Remember when I posted about having fun with transitioning? Yeah, so I was feeling particularly fun on Wednesday night so I decided to go ahead and try the cut out. Note: This involved cutting most of my hair. After about 2-3 hours here were the results.
I hadn't combed it yet here. That's why it looks so crazy.
HATED IT! I didn't like it at all. The hubs said I looked cute, but I sure didn't feel cute. I wasn't feeling it at all. I was in total shock for a minute because my hair has NEVER been this short. I was damn near natural on the right side of my head and in the back. So...I decided to just walk around with it for a day just to see if I would change my mind (and I didn't). On Thursday morning after I woke up, I noticed the nape had already reverted to natural, lol! I had to straighten some of it. I felt like I was doing my hair all over again. Chile....
One Thing I Wish I'd Known Before Getting This Haircut
Short hair requires a lot of heat if it's not relaxed. At least with my hair.
It may sound like common sense, but I didn't know this. : \ I didn't want to be flat ironing my hair every day. I was already flat ironing once a week because of transitioning. So wth did I even cut it in the 1st place?! Oh yeah...I was tired of dealing with the battle of the two textures & I wanted to try something new. I was so excited that I didn't think of the overall upkeep of the cut. I just looked at it as a transitional style. -_-
So I said forget this..I'm going natural!!! :D Yesterday, at 6 months post relaxer, I chopped all of my relaxed ends off! #ohyeah :D :D :D :D :D Check back because I'll be posting pics today. ;-)

Twist Out Fail!
Happy MLK Day!! :D If you follow me on Twitter, you know that this past Friday I decided to set my hair in a twist out on Friday night. I was actually trying to figure out if I should do a braid out or twist out. I settled on a twist out because early on in my journey when my hair was shorter twist outs looked better on my head than braid outs.
I forced a smile in these pics, but I was pissed! I won't be trying out the twist out for AWHILLLLLE!

5 Things I've Noticed Since Transitioning
Tomiko Fraser: Just started following her on Twitter and she is so inspirational!
1. When I flat iron my hair, my roots revert back so quickly! Like the next day!
2. My roots are taking over my relaxed hair. The natural hair is wayyyy stronger than the relaxed hair.
3. EXTREMELY DRY HAIR. #enoughsaid
4. My hair tangles like nobody's business.
5. I think about cutting my relaxed ends off everyday!!! I've even actually dreamed of doing it.
6. It's so hard to part my hair!! I just part with my fingers now...
This is all I've noticed so far. I'm sure there's more to come. ;-)

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Eve ya'll! :D It's 1 o'clock in the morning and I'm sitting in bed eating gum drops & drinking a Coke. Hey, don't blame me. It's what the baby wanted. ;-)
Hair news: I'm 5 months post relaxer!!! If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you might be tired of me saying this, lol. Yeah, I'm very proud of myself! :D My newgrowth still measures around 1.5 inches so not a lot of growth in my opinion. I'm also still snipping away at my relaxed ends. I just cut more off tonight.
This will be my last official post until next week on Monday. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
Sidenote: I have a very special post coming up dedicated to my readers. :-)

Sneak Peek @ My Small Chop!
Random moment: I just hit my elbow so hard on the wall. I blacked out for a moment....Here's my small chop. My hair is a little wet in this pic because I just washed it. I didn't count how many inches I cut off but it was about 2...The longest tip was where the "my small chop" is. This is how ya'll know I'm serious about going natural. I basically cut my apl hair into a bob...I'm preparing myself for the real chop! I'll most likely be cutting more in the coming months. I'm off to deep condition now. More pics to come this week & next week of the new cut. :-)

4 Months Post! :-)
Hey ladies,
I've made it!!! I've been just waiting for that 4 month mark to get here (actually it's tommorrow). This is officially the longest I've ever stretched a relaxer. The time before this was 15 weeks last year in February & my hair looked like this! -_- So this time I was scared to see what they what my ends would even look like. At the same time, I didn't care because as you know I'm transitioning.
Transition Update

I've measured my new growth in various parts of my head & it's about 1-1.5 inches....and that's stretched! So the growth is coming along. It's crazy because I'm trying to calculate how much growth I'll get a month. That way I know when to chop off the relaxed ends. I think I'll be transitioning for 6-12 months (with emphasis on 6 & 9). I flat ironed this morning and the new growth is so curly it kind of dreads up when I flat iron. Don't know if that makes since....lol. I'm managing the textures better now. It's a must that I section my hair to moisturize & seal.
Possible Bob?
Yep....I might be cutting my hair in a bob. Not a really short bob...It would rest around my shoulders. Don't know when/if I'll be doing this. I'm gonna have to cut my relaxed ends off next year & cutting it in a bob will make it easier for me. I've already done a light trim....
Okay I'm off to finish cleaning up. I'll be posting my Thanksgiving hair on Friday! Happy Thanksgiving! :D

I've Made My Decision! Transitioning Or Not?
As I type this, I'm sitting in my closet playing with my new growth. I just finished washing my hair & dc'ing with ORS Replenishing Pack. I'm in awe right now looking at my new growth. The pack made it so curly and soft! It's so hard for me not to big chop right now! So I've come to my decision: to hell with relaxers. I want to see my natural hair. :D I'm officially transitioning to natural hair. I'm so excited because this is a brand new journey for me & I can't wait. I feel like a kid the night before Christmas. Ya'll already know I've been dreaming about my natural hair. Crazy I know...but it's true.
This decision didn't come easy to me. I've been researching for weeks and just really trying to make sure this was the right decision for me. Thank you to everyone who offered advice! I am also so grateful to the Youtubers who've provided inspiration for women who are transitioning. Thank you! :-)

Possible Hair Length @ 10 Months Natural
So this is how I've been spending my late nights....scouring the internet looking for natural hairspiration. ;-) I guess this is why I've been dreaming about cutting my hair. It's all apart of me researching my possible transition to natural hair. By the time the Munchkin is born (May), I'll be around 10 months so I've been looking at naturals who're also around 10 months-to get a feel of how long my hair might be... I must say I've found some beautiful hair on Youtube. I think I would be okay with my hair being around the length in all 4 of these videos. I think. I'm going to start measuring my my new growth every month just to track it. I need to figure out how many inches I want my new growth to be if I decide to go natural.

Transitioning While Pregnant?
I always told my hubby that I'd go natural when I got pregnant.....well as you all know I am. :-). The big question is "Will I transition to natural though?" Truth is...I don't know. Let's just see how it goes. I know I'm not going to be relaxing at all during my pregnancy so it'll be like transitioning to natural anyway. I'm 8 weeks post and so far I'm not doing a lot fun things with my hair. Too nauseated and feeling like 'meh' every day. I can't wait until this feeling passes. Ponytail every day anyone? LOL.
What do you guys think? Has anyone ever transitioned to natural while being pregnant? Right now, I don't know what I'm going to do. It's definitely going to be exciting to see more of my natural hair textures though. :D I know there's a couple of different textures on this head of mine!
