HG Hairstyle Headliner: Jaye Carisma

In the past few weeks, I've been pleasantly surprised a few times by some of my favorite bloggers featuring my hairstyles on their websites! Needless to say, I wasn't expecting this at all. I really had no idea ladies liked and were even trying some of my hairstyles out. :o It made me feel so appreciated. :-) Thanks ya'll! I love coming up with new ways to style my hair & trying out looks I've seen on other ladies. I get bored easily! lol, So 1st up is Jaye Carisma!

I have to say...her braid is wayyyy neater than mine usually is! lol

Side Summer Braid & Picked An Event Name!

I still can't figure out how to convert my video on my phone to an acceptable video to be uploaded to Blogger. : \ But moving along, I've created another summer style! I'm on a roll this summer. I came up with this style a few days after seeing a photo of Jessica Alba on the web. I don't think her hair was in a side braid, but it gave me the idea to try this. :-) I can't find the photo of Jessica anywhere now. I've even tried googling her name with side braid and I can't find it! I did find one that's very similiar to the one I saw on her....it was pushed a little bit more though.

I may try this one too....hmmm. Very cute!

Here's mine....

I pulled all of my hair over to the side of my head, did a big french braid and tucked it under. I also put a few bobby pins in the initial braid to hold it down more. This could be used a good protective style too!

AND I've finally picked a name for my 1st HG event! :D I've settled on the 2010 Hair Gurl "Love Your Hair" Summer Affair. :-) I commented earlier on Facebook on the fact that it rhymes. lol...Now I can get on with the rest of the details. I'm so excited! Thanks to everyone who commented on the initial post with interest! In other news, you all know about my new hair color right? Well I read on the internet cinnamon can lighten your hair. So I tried it over my colored hair....and it indeed does lighten the hair! ;-) Details coming up in my next post!

Summer Style: Classy Bun W/ Side Twist Pt. 2

Okay...so I've been sitting here for the last 2 hours trying to upload a video showing the bun in more detail. : \ #lost I'm not an expert at this, but I didn't think it would be this hard. And the hubs is not home. :s In the meantime, here are some more photos of the classy bun/ with a side twist. I took these today before I left the apartment so you guys could see how it's supposed to look. The pics from yesterday show you how mine looks at the end of the day. I don't mind the messy look, but I wanted you ladies to see how good it looks when I first do it! ;-)

So what do ya'll think? I'm going to figure out how to get the video to play on Blogger. I really want to have the tutorial up by this Friday. On Saturday, I think I'm going to be rocking a braidout or a rollerset for the D.C. Caribbean Carnival. Big hair for Summer 2010! ;-) But who knows, I might just do the this style. It really depends on how I'm feeling... Sidenote: I can't believe it's almost July....

Summer Style: Classy Bun W/ Side Twist

So I'm without a camera. :-( Read more about it here. I resorted to taking photos on my camera phone. I keep hearing Beyonce's Video Phone in my head every time I say or write that. lol The good news is I've created another summer style that I want to share with you guys! :D I love it and I'm clearly going to be rocking this all summer. ;-) It's my classy bun remixed again. If you're wondering what the classy bun is check out the original post here. :-) Only now it's on the side of my head with a twist. This one is similiar to the one I did here.

Here are some low quality pics unfortunately. : \ They'll get better as I figure out how to position my head for the camera.

After a long day.....lol. I like the messy look that it gets as the day goes on though.

I love how this bun looks and I'm already experimenting on remixing it again. :0 I hope you guys like it. I'm definitely going to do another post with front, side, & back shots of the style because it's just that CUTE. ;-) I'm going to be doing a step-by-step tutorial on this one soon. I'm trying to debate how I'll do it with just my phone. #ohwell I'll figure it out. Summer Style: Wash-N-Go Hair

One of my favorite things about the summertime is that I can co-wash or wash my hair, apply my leave-ins, & head out the door. :D My hair dries on the way. Ahhhh....wash-n-go hair. Love them! I feel so carefree when I do a wash-n-go. I guess that's because it's a carefree hairstyle. ;-) Can't do these in the winter...unless you want to catch pneumonia.

The wind started blowing as soon as I started taking pics....

And the wash-n-go just keeps getting bigger & bigger! Here it is at the end of the day before I went to bed. I fluffed it out a lot too!
