Online Shop Spotlight: Coarse Dame Crochet

Recently, the lovely Romney of Coarse Dame Crochet reached out to me about her cool & unique online shop. Coarse Dame Crochet offers beautiful handmade crochet beanies, headbands, and even earrings!

The birth of Coarse Dame Crochet:

It all started with a beanie. One day I decided to challenge myself and see if I had any crocheting skills. To my surprise I wasn't half bad and the end result was an oversized beanie. It took much practice to get the beanie the way I wanted but overall it was a big hit amongst my family and friends. My sister encouraged me to open up shop and so I did just that!! Coarse Dame Crochet was created and I can now make hats, gloves, scarves, earrings and even headbands!! In the near future I plan to add clutches, messenger bags and possibly coin purses. Each item is exclusively handmade by me, I take pride in my product and I want to make sure the customer gets exactly what they want. I accept custom orders as long as I can find the specific color that the customer needs.

Dollar Tree Headband

I got this headband from Dollar Tree a couple of weeks while looking for headbands for the Munchkin's newborn photo shoot. It was $1. Gotta add that in there because some dollar stores have things over a $1 (why put dollar in the name if everything is not a dollar??) You can't tell by the pic, but it's a very light olive color. It's a little greener in person. Dollar Tree has some cute little hair accessories. (and some of the makeup isn't half bad). I get A LOT of stuff from there. The 1st aisle I go to is always the hair care/accessories aisle, lol. Everything else is secondary. ;-) You can't beat the $1 price! Haha. Have ya'll purchased any hair accessories from DT?

New Blog Alert!

Hey girls! Okay big things are happening for me right now. As you saw from my last post, I recently launched a new online store. I'm very excited about the store (even though nothing has sold yet!). In due time I know it will be a success. At least, I'm hoping it will! :-)

The hubs and I have also started our own blog together. This is something that I've always wanted to do with him! We're both very headstrong and we always have an opinion about something. We wanted to give people a look into the life of a black young married couple trying accomplish their dreams. No, this is not like your average wedding/parenting/mommy blogs. Totally different. Our debates and dreams are the focus. I'm very proud of it and I invite you guys over to check it out. Let me know what you think!

As far as the hair goes...it's finally relaxer week! I can't wait because I want to see just how much my hair has grown since December. Look out for photos in the next day or so. I'm hoping I will receive the Alter Ego in the mail today or tommorrow so I can relax on Thursday night.

Cold Air = Dry Hair?

Fall is definitely here, but winter doesn't officially start until late December. Regardless of the seasons though cold weather is here (at least in Maryland it is!). I am paying extra attention to my hair's moisture level and keeping the ends hydrated. So cold air won't be equaling dry hair for this lovely lady. Now way! I am going to start wearing more hats to combat the cold and I will be keeping my hair pinned up a lot. Check out these hot berets at Forever 21 for the low!
